Description: Bridge Builders is a student organization of nearly fifty students dedicated to celebrating diversity, breaking down stereotypes, working against racism, and protecting those who are vulnerable. This group enhances students’ understanding of ethnic and racial identity and the effect of identity on behavior, intergroup relations, and conflict resolution.
Members of the staff and student leaders recommend and interview students from all segments of the school community to be part of this organization; students are selected to represent all grades, both genders, and as many ethnicities as possible; they are selected to represent those who choose to academically engage in the CHS community as much as possible and those who do not; they are selected to represent students strongly involved in extracurricular activities and those who are not; they are selected to represent those who abide by school rules and those who sometimes choose to break them. These students represent a cross–section of the CedarburgHigh School community.
Membership: Membership in Bridge Builders is by recommendation or application.
