Pre-College Summer Programs
Many colleges offer summer programs designed to give high school students a taste of college life. Attending one of these programs can help strengthen students’ college applications, introduce them to college level classes, and possibly give college credits. Finding the right pre-college program can help boost a student’s college search and college career. Here are some helpful tips about what types of programs to look for in this article, published by U.S. News & World Report.
Opportunities for Summer 2017
EAA Summer Camp - a week-long aviation Air Camp each June for 19 - 26 year olds, male and female. We've been doing this for 17 years. It's a great learning experience, the cost is very reasonable, and includes flights with an FAA certified flight instructor in an airplane, as well as flights in gliders, helicopters, hands-on experiences building wing sections in aluminum and composite materials and much, much more.

Summer School - Reinforcement and Enrichment
WCATY - Wisconsin Cener for Academically Talented Youth - Accelerated learning program for gifted high school students who want to explore interdisciplinary knowledge in an intimate college learning environment at UW Madison.
YWCA Everytown Wisconsin camp - This year’s camp (8/14-8/19) will be a week-long residential camp focused on helping teen girls understand the “isms” (i.e. racism, sexism, adultism, internalized sexism) and how each form of these oppressions impacts participation in our democracy.
The Wisconsin American Legion Law Enforcement Career Academy - This program is open to all Wisconsin students between their Junior and Senior years of High School and will provide first-hand experiences and insight into the operations of law enforcement agencies. It will also afford highly motivated young people an opportunity to consider law enforcement as a potential career choice. The program will be held June 19 – June 23, 2017 at Fort McCoy.
