Free Meals Program
On August 31st, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Services announced nationwide waivers to allow the continuation of free meals to all students through the Summer Food Service Program. Participation in this program is optional for schools, but the Cedarburg School District did apply for the waiver and was approved on September 10th with an effective date of September 8th, the first day of school.
As a result of this waiver, ALL students are eligible to receive free breakfast (at the High School) and lunch meals from the Cedarburg School District until the end of the 2020-21 school year, or until the program runs out of funding. Any meals charged to students during the first week of school will be reversed with a credit back to their account. Ala Carte is not part of this program so parents will still be able to see those charges on their student account going forward. A single carton of milk is considered Ala Carte and milk purchases will be charged accordingly to your students account.
Virtual students are also eligible for free meals under this waiver and will be able to pick up a 5-day meal pack on Tuesdays from 2-2:30 pm at the Cedarburg High School in front of the Field House. All participants must sign up on the Cedarburg Lunch Menu website by Monday before 2 pm to have their meals reserved for Tuesday. We will not have any extras available for those who did not reserve their meals. More information can be found on our website at https://cedarburgk12wi.schooldish.com.
We are really excited about this new opportunity to serve our students healthy and nutritious meals!
