Update to In-Person Learning
December 2, 2020
Dear Cedarburg School District Families,
Our goal from the start of the school year has been to provide quality experiences for all students, whether in-person or at-home. We celebrate the valiant efforts of everyone engaged in this important endeavor; from our teachers and administration to our students and parents.
The pivot to remote learning on November 20, 2020, allowed an opportunity to reset the system. Many, but not all the factors that contributed to the pivot to remote learning are now trending in a better direction. With this in mind, 4K-12 in-person instruction will resume on December 7, 2020. Those families that chose the fully virtual option from the start of the year will continue in that model.
It is clear that mitigation measures work. We have 12 days of in-person instruction leading up to the winter break. Please continue to wear a face covering, wash hands regularly, maintain at least 6 feet of social distance and follow the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations of self-monitoring for any symptoms related to COVID-19.
Please remember that circumstances can change swiftly. It is important to have alternative plans in place should factors warrant another temporary pivot to remote learning. The switch to remote learning could be for a class, grade level, school or the entire district. All possible steps will be taken to remain in-person, but if factors warrant a pivot to remote, please be ready to respond with short notice.
In addition, we can use your support in filling current vacancies and substitute positions. Please share with your friends and colleagues that we have positions that need to be filled. More information on our current vacancies can be found on the employment page of our website. Your assistance is appreciated.
The “reboot” of the system appears to have worked as of this communication. Diligent efforts will continue to keep students and staff safe and in-person. Monitoring systems remain in place to ensure a safe return after the winter break.
