Description: This club is designed to teach High School Students how to build a race car from the ground up. It will teach in depth aspects of how a race car is built including gearing, handling, the geometry of chassis design, and more. They will use CAD designs to actually build a race car from pre-designed and nationally approved drawings. This program teaches many mechanical skills including welding, mechanical and electrical engineering, fluid dynamics, many critical thinking situations, as well as the need for marketing, promotions concepts, and fund raising. This program is modeled after the Formula SAE program used at many collages across the country. This is a program also found throughout Europe and Australia. This is a way to provide real world applications and experience that will advance these student towards a technical or engineering degree program at the college level.
