Thanks to Senator Ron Johnson for sharing a congratulatory message with us as we celebrated our Blue Ribbon award.
CHS Named Blue Ribbon School
Congratulations to our students, staff and parents on being recognized today as a National Blue Ribbon School by U.S. Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan. We were recognized for “Exemplary High Performance”. Exemplary High Performing Schools are among their state’s highest performing schools as measured by state assessments or nationally normed tests. Student subgroup performance and high school graduation rates are also at the highest levels.
CHS was one of 337 schools across the nation selected for the 2014 cohort of National Blue Ribbon Schools and one of just eight schools selected for this national honor in Wisconsin and the only high school named a Blue Ribbon School. As a recognized school, CHS will be honored at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on November 10-11. Mr. Cullen will be representing our teaching staff along with me at the ceremony.
A National Blue Ribbon Schools flag overhead has become a mark of excellence in education recognized by everyone from parents to policy-makers in thousands of communities. Since the program's founding, the U. S. Department of Education has bestowed this coveted award on just under 7,900 of America's schools.
After the ceremony in Washington, D.C. there will be a student assembly to celebrate this award together.
