New Golden Bulldogs "To-Dos"
We are thrilled to welcome the next class of Golden Bulldogs!
To assist you in planning your upcoming 50th reunion, committee members are available to help. The Golden Bulldogs Committee requests that you schedule your reunion on the dates selected by the committee, at least a year in advance. This is necessary due to various factors, particularly the availability of venues such as the CPAC, the Cedarburg High School Cafeteria, and the Expo Center, which are often booked for other events and purposes.
Here are some details:
- Plan in advance to hold your individual class reunion on Friday evening, before the GB Saturday event.
- TEACHER HONOREE: One year prior, please select one of your former CHS teachers to be honored at the GB Program. Note: To avoid duplication, a list of past honorees is available on the Recognized Teachers webpage. Choose a narrator for the PowerPoint Teacher-Honoree presentation and provide that teacher's contact information. A script will be provided.
- PLANNING COMMITTEE: List the members of your planning committee along with the contact person's name, email, and phone number, then submit this information to Larry Beverung at larry.beverung@gmail.com. Additionally, make sure to attend Golden Bulldogs meetings with at least three committee members.
- CLASS LIST: Provide a list of class members, including their contact details (email, home address, phone number), and submit it to Bev Beyer at c2cwi@aol.com.
- THEME: Choose a theme that depicts your class. It should be brief and serve as the title for the program booklet's class biography. Some examples of past themes are "60 Rocks", "Gettin' Our Kicks, Class of '66", and "The Wonder Years".
- BANNER: Create a banner to represent your class. It can be made from vinyl, felt, or any durable material you prefer. The banner should be at least 5 by 7 feet and have grommets in the corners for hanging. Include your class year, a welcoming message like "Welcome Class of ___," your chosen theme, or any honors or slogans that reflect your class.
- BIOGRAPHY: Write a one-page biography of your class and title it with your chosen theme for the booklet. Submit it by August 1st (reunion year) to Debra Franzke at dfranzke@att.net. Include significant world events from your graduation year, popular music, and notable class activities such as prom theme, senior play, athletics, or other activities your class enjoyed or was known for. You might also mention the benefits you gained from your high school education and how it has influenced your classmates' lives.
- DVD: Prepare a 15-minute DVD of your class story to be shown at the CPAC program. It may include music, information about your class, past or present, and world events of the time. Your class biography would be a good source for this.
- MEMENTOS: Gather high school items from class members to display on the memorabilia table in the CPAC vestibule. This could include high school letters, band medals, athletic sports jackets, cheerleader outfits, Cedariels, newsletters, trophies, awards, or band items. Appoint someone from your class to assemble the display, box it up, and take it home afterward. It can be kept and displayed year after year.
Additional details for your consideration: we ask that these individuals attend the program rehearsal on the Thursday prior to the reunion.
- One person to read the provided script for the teacher honoree presentation.
- One person to read the comments about the honoree collected from the class.
- Two or three individuals to serve as presenters at the pin ceremony.
