Academic and Career Planning (ACP) is a collaboratively developed, student-driven process for planning success in middle school, high school, and post-secondary academic and career development. The purpose of ACP is to engage students in career exploration and planning.  Students will engage in activities and experiences to inform and support planning educational, training and career goals after high school. The Cedarburg School District uses Xello, an electronic tool, as part of the overall ACP process and provides parents with multiple opportunities during each school year to participate in their child’s academic and career planning. Parents are updated throughout the school year on the progress of their child’s planning.

The educational standards used for curriculum renewal and design efforts in the Cedarburg School District were approved by the Board at the July Board meeting. Please note this link will be updated annually after the July Board Meeting when the standards are presented for Action.

The Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act requires school districts to inspect their buildings for asbestos-containing building materials and develop, maintain and update an asbestos management plan. For notifications relating to CSD Buildings & Grounds asbestos and pesticide use, please see the B&G department webpage.

 School districts are required by section 118.293 of the state statutes to distribute a concussion and head injury information sheet to (1) each person who will be coaching a youth athletic activity and (2) each student who wishes to participate in the activity at the beginning of a youth athletic activity season, except as otherwise specifically provided. The Cedarburg School District has designated a Custodian of Public Records to meet its obligations under State public records laws (Wis. Stat. §§ 19.31 - 19.39). Members of the public may request access to the Cedarburg School District’s public records or copies of these records. Requests for records and the District’s response shall be in accordance with the processes outlined in Board Policy 8310 – Public Records.

State law (Act 55) specifies that annually, every public school is to provide parents with a copy of the district and school’s report card and simultaneously provide a list of educational options to parents. Accountability scores for Cedarburg over time can be found here.

The implementation of WI Act 20 requires our work to focus on increasing the number of students reading "on grade level" by the end of third grade. The implementation of Wisconsin Act 20 aligns seamlessly with the mission of the Cedarburg School District, which is committed to providing "an exemplary education that challenges students in a nurturing environment to develop into lifelong learners, become responsible adults, and achieve their goals and dreams." Assessment and Accountability

The Cedarburg School District's comprehensive, balanced assessment system includes classroom assessments, grade/course common assessments, and district and statewide assessments. The CSD Assessment Plan segments assessments into three distinct categories:  District, State, and National. The District is committed to ensuring each student’s success and utilizes student performance from a variety of assessment indicators to understand a student’s accumulating knowledge, and the opportunity to respond with additional instruction or extension when needed.
