CSD 4 YEAR OLD KINDERGARTEN

The mission of the Cedarburg School District is to provide an exemplary education that challenges students in a nurturing environment to develop into lifelong learners, to become responsible adults and to achieve their goals and dreams.

4K Purpose: In collaboration with parents and the community, and in a safe and nurturing environment, Cedarburg School District is committed to provide engaging, inquiry and play-based experiences for all four-year-olds, that promote each child’s success!

CSD 4 year old Kindergarten provides you and your children:

ACCESS - 4K for every child

QUALITY - 4K programming that is research-based, developmentally appropriate, and rich with meaningful learning experiences

COHERENCE - 4K learning experiences and outcomes that prepare each child for 5K and beyond within district elementary schools

Overview

Cedarburg offers half-day 4-year-old kindergarten five days a week at its three elementary schools - Parkview, Thorson, and Westlawn.

Morning and afternoon sessions are 8:50 - 11:35 AM and 12:50- 3:35 PM.  

The District utilizes the following two pieces of criteria when determining placement of morning and afternoon 4K sections:  

1. Transportation clustering requirements communicated to the District by Riteway Bus Company (for those students who qualify for district busing). Visit the 4K Transportation FAQ for more information.
2. Class size and section development characteristics.  

All placement decisions will be made by June 2025 for the upcoming school year.

2025-2026 School Year Enrollment

The first day of school for all students for the 2025-26 school year is September 2, 2025. (No school on Labor Day, Monday, September 1, 2025). However, 4K students will have a staggered start to provide a more personalized transition on the first day of school. The first day of school for 4K students will be either September 2 or September 3. More details will be provided by your school. A 2025-26 School Year Calendar is posted on the District website under Calendars.

Enrollment Window

Enrollment for the 2025-26 school year is now open. Enroll anytime between now and February 14, 2025 by visiting the 4K New Student Enrollment Page.
