CSD Teacher Compensation 2023-24
The Cedarburg School District (CSD) recognizes that high-quality teachers are the backbone of our district and integral in helping it maintain its high academic standards. As part of CSD’s ongoing efforts to show appreciation for and retain outstanding educators, the CSD School Board approved a series of increases for teacher wages, the last of which was at the Special School Board Meeting on December 6, 2023.
In the District, total teacher compensation increases consist of three parts: 1) Base Wage increases, 2) Strategic Compensation increases, and 3) Supplemental Pay increases. When all three aspects of teacher compensation are combined, the CSD School Board has approved a 5.59% increase in teacher compensation for the 2023-24 school year. This increase aligns with the average increase of 4.80% for teacher compensation in southeastern Wisconsin school districts and, furthermore, ensures that CSD maintains a balanced budget for the 2023-24 school year.
After all proposed increases are added to eligible teacher salaries, all returning full-time teachers will be receiving a total minimum salary of at least $50,000.
A balanced budget is imperative to ensure our ability to continue providing high-quality educational experiences to all students for years to come. While some southeastern Wisconsin school districts are facing fiscal deficits and discussions regarding operating referendums, school closings, and significant budget reductions, CSD has maintained a solid financial footing, which forecasts our ability to continue to provide the educational services this community has come to expect.
Sincerely,
The Cedarburg School Board & Administration
