
Chip Rank
Chip Rank was one of the most highly decorated multi-sport athletes in the history of Cedarburg High School. He earned four varsity letters each in the sports of football and basketball. Chip began his basketball career as a freshman starter and led his team for two years as captain. Chip scored an impressive 1,527 career points, which was the boys' CHS career record at that time. Chip was 1st Team All-Conference as a sophomore, junior and senior. During his junior year, he earned All-State Honorable Mention and went on to receive 1st Team All-State his senior season. Chip capped off a dominant senior season averaging a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds. He holds the CHS record for most points scored in a game with 47 points. In addition to his many accomplishments, Chip was also known throughout CHS for his tremendous leadership qualities and work ethic.
Chip was a multi-sport talent who also excelled in football. He started as quarterback for the varsity team for three years. He was a team captain during his junior and senior years. As the starting quarterback, Chip led the team to qualify for three straight WIAA playoffs. He finished his career with 2,883 passing yards and 28 touchdowns. As a junior, Chip was named All-Conference Honorable Mention. This was followed by the award of 2nd Team All-Conference his senior year. Chip's outstanding play earned the
attention of many colleges around the country.
After his outstanding high school career, Chip earned a basketball scholarship at the University of Northern Iowa. While at UNI, he tied for third in all-time games played with 135. Chip finished his basketball career at UNI in the top 100 in career points with a total of 592. He was also a three-time Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete.
