2025 GIRLS VARSITY TENNIS TRYOUT PROTOCOL & EXPECTATIONS
Dates: Tuesday, August 12th through Friday, August 15th , 2025
Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm CT - everyday
Location: Juniper Lane Tennis Courts - Cedarburg High School
Rain Dates: Saturday, August 16th and Sunday August 17th, 2025 (if required)
Rain Times: 9:00am - 12:00pm CT (if required)
- All players who wish to tryout for the Varsity Girls team MUST attend all tryout sessions - NO EXCEPTIONS - Illness and injury will require parent and doctor communication
- Players should plan for rain date sessions to be required…absence from these make up sessions will be viewed as missing one of the required tryout sessions.
- Tryout play begins at 9:00am, players should be dressed, stretched, and warm at that time
- Players should wear appropriate tennis attire and shoes, and bring along ample water and healthy snacks (as required)
- Any player who did NOT participate on the 2024 Varsity team must also attend JV tennis tryouts
- JV tryouts will be held at the Webster tennis courts
- JV tryout schedule to be finalized
- JV is no cut
- Please check Cedarburg Tennis website for final schedule
- 2024 JV tryouts were held on the same days as Varsity, from 3pm-4:30pm (for reference)
- Varsity team consists of 12 players, in the case of illness or injury to a Varsity player, JV players will be called up to participate in matches
- Substitute players to the Varsity team will be selected by the JV coach based on need
- Players will be evaluated based upon a variety of attributes
- Head to head results from 8 game pro-sets
- Skill level across all shots
- Court presence and awareness
- Fit within the team lineup and/or chemistry with other players
- 4 singles players, 4 doubles team - 12 players overall
- Fitness level
- Attitude, mentality, competitiveness
- Coaches evaluation and discretion
- Uniforms
- Varsity Uniforms will be the same as the 2024 Season Uniform. Once you have been elected for the varsity team you can purchase them. Please visit this Cedarburg Tennis website for links to purchase
