Mark Jessup
Varsity Co-Head Coach

Coach Jessup completed his eighth year as the Varsity Co-Head Coach at Cedarburg this past spring. He feels privileged to share the Co-Head Coaching duties with his brother-in-law, Jeff Langkamp. During their tenure leading the program, they have compiled an overall record of 157-66 over eight years, along with conference championships in 2021, 2022, and 2024, regional championships in 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, and state tournament appearances in 2021, 2022, 2024, and 2025. Our program believes that commitment and dedication in the classroom, on the field, and in the weight room are key to success, and that each player controls the effort and attitude they bring across those three areas. The aim is to work hard and have fun while doing it. Our student-athletes take pride in wearing the Bulldog logo both on and off the field. Lastly, maintaining a strong relationship with the local feeder program, Cedarburg Crush, has been critical to our success. Coach Jessup has been involved with Crush for over ten years, serving on the club board for many of those years. Maintaining a steady pipeline of softball players in development leads to a reload rather than a rebuild mindset.

Coach Langkamp is entering his 11th season as a high school softball coach, including eight years at CHS as Co-Head Coach and two years at Brown Deer High School as an assistant. His coaching philosophy is that you must coach in a style that brings out the best in your athletes. This means one could use multiple coaching methods to maximize their potential; it can't be a one-size-fits-all approach. Coach Langkamp believes this approach has been effective, as the team averages nearly 20 wins per season at CHS. On a personal note, Jeff was fortunate to play men's Fastpitch softball for over 15 years, appearing in three World Series during his playing career, and has taken many lessons from his playing days to inform his coaching.
